Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on February 29, 1936, he is most famous for playing the character of Moe Green, a Las Vegas syndicate boss who is shot in the eye during the violent christening sequence in Mario Puzo’s Oscar-winning film The Godfather (1972).

Leonard Nimoy was among the notable actors that Rocco worked with during his training to control his strong Boston accent.

During the early ’60s, he worked as a bartender in Hollywood and subsequently commenced his TV career in the late ’60s.

The world was first introduced to him when he was a thug getting wipped by the caped crusaders in an episode of Batman.

In the late 80s, he made a name for himself as a TV comedian by winning an Emmy for The Famous Teddy Z in the 1989-1990 season. He also appeared on other comedy shows like Sibs (1991) and The George Carlin Show (1994).
