Javed Akhtar, an Indian poet and writer, has a net worth of $20 million.
Javed Akhtar, a student at Colvin Taluqdars’ College and Aligarh Muslim University, was born in Khairabad, Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, in 1945.
In the mid-60s, he relocated to Mumbai to pursue a career in the film industry.
Akhtar’s career didn’t flourish until the early 2000s, with his initial breakthrough being the script for “Andaz.”
During the decade, Akhtar and Salim Khan, his script-writing partner, worked closely together, resulting in the formation of the renowned writing duo Salim-Javed.
Later on, they crafted a variety of well-known scripts, such as “Haathi Mere Saathi”, “Yaadon Ki Baaraat”, “Zanjeer”, “Deewaar”, “Premada Kaanike”, “Trishul”, “Kaanike”, “Zamanda”, and “Mrinth”.
During the early 1980s, he began writing lyrics for films, and shortly after, the pair broke up in 1982.
They are regarded as some of the most prolific screenwriters in history, and the first to reach stardom in Indian cinema.
“Lava”, a collection of poems, earned Javed almost a dozen Filmfare Awards and the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2013, the second-highest award given in India.
Honey Irani, Akhtar’s wife, was married to her until they divorced, which was believed to have been caused by his affair with Shabana Azmi.
Two children were born to Akhtar and Irani.
