An American television journalist named Bob Schieffer has a net worth of $10 million.
Born in Austin, Texas on February 25, 1937, Bob Lloyd Schieffer is best known for his long tenure as the face of CBS, America’s major commercial broadcasting television network.
Schieffer served in the US Air Force after graduating before transitioning to a career as a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Following that, he held a job at WBAP in Dallas for a short time before moving to CBS in 1969.
As a Sunday anchor, he started his career at CBS.
He held the position of anchor for the Saturday edition of CBS Evening News from 1973 to 1996, served as the chief Washington correspondent for 23 years, and served as the moderator of the popular public affairs show Face the Nation on Sundays since 1991.
He was the first person to replace Dan Rather as weekday anchor before Katie Couric took over in September 2006. Since then, he has been one of the main replacements for Scott Pelley since 2011.
Moreover, Bob Schieffer is one of the few journalists who cover all four major Washington national assignments, which include the White House, Pentagon, United States Department of State, and United States Congress.
As a result, his time at CBS has been closely intertwined and centered on national politics.
Six Emmy Awards have been won by Schieffer and he was named Broadcaster of the Year in 2002 by the National Press Foundation.
He wrote four books, which include Face the Nation: My Favorite Stories from the First 50 Years of the Award-Winning News Broadcast (2004) and Bob Schieffer’s America (2008).
Schieffer has two daughters with his wife, Patricia Penrose Bishop, whom he is married to.
