Hunter Stockton Thompson, who was the firstborn of Virginia, a librarian, and Jack, a public insurance adjuster, was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 18, 1937, at the age of 67, after developing mental health issues and becoming an avid user of alcohol and illegal drugs.
