Marcus Lutrell, an American former United States Navy SEAL with a net worth of $1.5 million.
Marcus Luttrell, a native of Houston, Texas, started his SEAL training at the age of twelve.
Along with a few other young men, he trained alongside his twin brother.
Following his graduation from Sam Houston State University, he joined the Navy in the late 1990s.
He enrolled in Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Class 226, but did not graduate with Class 228 until 2000 after breaking his leg on the O-course.
Following that, he underwent Army jump school, SEAL Qualification training, and the Special Operations Combat Medic Course. He was a member of SDV-1, and was later deployed to Afghanistan as part of SEAL Team Ten and Iraq as part of SEAL Team Five.
He was the lone surviving Operation Red Wing, which was ambushed in Afghanistan.
The safety of the individual was ensured by the local Pashtun villagers.
The book “Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10” was co-written by him and has been a bestseller since his experience there.
Mark Wahlberg starred in the movie adaptation of the book.
He is the creator of the Lone Survivor Foundation and has also written a second book.
