A retired Venezuelan right fielder named Magglio Ordóez has a net worth of $50 million.
On January 28, 1974, Magglio Ordonez, a native of Caracas, Venezuela, played for the Chicago White Sox (1997-2004) and the Detroit Tigers (2005-2011), and retired on June 3, 2012, in a ceremony held at Comerica Park just before the afternoon game.
He has been a six-time All-Star Game pick (1999-2001, 2003, and 2006-07) and has been awarded three Silver Slugger awards (2000, 2002, and 2007).
Ordóez’s 2007 season with the Detroit Tigers was a remarkable one, as his batting average of.363 earned him the American League batting title. Despite being referred to as “Maggs” by fans, he was known for wearing curly black wigs under their baseball caps in support of their long-haired right fielder. However, he had to cut his hair to look more feminine in that situation.
In mid-2006, Ordóez was dubbed “The Big Tide” by a group of bloggers.
He announced in August 2013 that he would run for mayor of the Juan Antonio Sotillo Municipality in Venezuela on the United Socialist Party of Venezuela’s ticket.
Magglio Ordóez was declared the winner of the mayoral election held on December 9, 2013.
