An American college football coach and former player, Mark Dantonio, has a net worth of $14 million.
Born in El Paso, Texas in 1965, Mark Dantonio played college football for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks from 1976 to 1978.
Dantonio earned a bachelor’s degree from the school in 1979 and a master’s degree from Ohio University in 1979.
In 1980, Dantonio started his coaching career in college while pursuing his master’s degree.
He held the position of a graduate assistant at the school until he completed a season as a graduate assistant with Purdue.
He went on to coach at Butler Community College, Ohio State University, Akron, Youngstown State, and Kansas.
The Michigan State University Spartans hired him as a defensive backs coach in 1995. He stayed in East Lansing until 2000 when he became the defensive coordinator for the Buckeyes.
Until 2003, Dantonio was the head coach at the University of Cincinnati, where he served for just two seasons.
The Spartans appointed Dantonio as their head coach in 2007, following his success with the Bearcats, and he has held this position since 2014.
Prior to the 2014 postseason, Dantonio had a 4-4 bowl game record and an overall record of 91-48 as a head coach.
He has won two Big Ten championships in 2010 and 2013 and was a two-time recipient of the Big Ten Coach of the Year award in both of those years.
