Shane Doan, who was born in Halkirk, Alberta, Canada in 1976, started his hockey career in the WHL before being drafted as the seventh overall in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets.
Despite being nicknamed the Phoenix and Arizona Coyotes after moving from Canada to the American southwest, Doan has been a part of the team.
The 2003-04 season saw Doan take on the role of captain and record career-highs in goals, assists, and points (27, 41, 68).
