Jason Witten, an American tight end for the Dallas Cowboys, has a net worth of $12 Million.
On May 6th, 1982, he was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee.
Witten’s father’s abusive behavior towards his mother and his grandfather’s coaching of the football team prompted him to move with his grandparents at the age of eleven. He quickly gained experience and helped his team win games and make it to the state semi finals three times.
After being awarded a scholarship from the University of Tennessee, he played on the Tennessee Volunteers football team as a defensive and tight end.
During his college years, Witten achieved school records for the number of receptions, yards, and touchdowns he received. He started his professional career in the 3rd round of the National Football League Draft in 2003, but due to a limited role in his rookie season, he played in only seven out of fifteen games.
Despite being hit and suffering a broken jaw during a game against the Arizona Cardinals, he didn’t stop playing and missed just one game.
In the subsequent year, Witten achieved a team record for his position and was selected for his first Pro Bowl appearance, which also included being nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, both in 2006 and 2007.
He was granted his 8th Pro Bowl in 2012 and went on to achieve the second-highest number of receptions in NFL history, outdoing Shannon Sharpe.
