Big Katt, also known as Shaun Ellis, was born in 1977 in Anderson, South Carolina, and later played college football at the University of Tennessee.
Ellis’ record as a Vol includes over 100 tackles, 12.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and an interception.
During the 2000 NFL Draft, he was chosen as the 12th overall pick by the New York Jets.
As a rookie, Ellis quickly made his way into the starting rotation and made a significant impact.
The Jets’ rookie season saw Ellis finish with 8.5 sacks, the second most by a first year player in team history. He played with the team until 2010 and was recognized with two Pro Bowl rings, one in 2003 and one in 2009.
