The net worth of Alex Beard, a British oil tycoon, is $1.9 billion.
The founder of Glencore, a multinational commodity trading and mining company, was Alexander Frank Beard, who went on to become a billionaire.
Beard, who holds a Master of Science degree from Oxford University, initiated his career at BP’s Crude Oil Department.
After spending five years working at Glencore in 1995, he joined the company. In 2007, he was appointed as the Director of the oil commodity department, after 10 years of service.
At the moment, Beard is the Global Head of Oil, responsible for the company’s global operations.
In 2011, Beard became a member of the billionaire community when Glencore’s IPO took place on the London stock exchange, while Beard’s estimated net worth is more than $2 billion.
Despite a 20% decrease in the shares’ value following their public offering, the Glencore future is looking favorable due to its intention to merge with Xstrata, a mining corporation.
