The Carphone Warehouse’s chairman and co-founder, Charles, is one of the UK’s oldest billionaires and serves as the chairman of the TalkTalk Group.
Charles William Dunstone, who was born in Saffron Walden on November 21, 1964, is a graduate of Uppingham School and holds a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Liverpool.
Dunstone’s career began as a mobile phone salesperson shortly after graduating, followed by a stint as a sales executive at NEC.
He was able to secure the necessary funds to start his own business. He founded The Carphone Warehouse (CPW) in 1989, which is a mobile phone manufacturer that caters to self-employed, small businesses, and the general public.
After being permitted to be listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2000, it was estimated to be worth $2.6 billion.
Best Buy Europe came into existence as a result of the successful collaboration between CPW and Best Buy, which began approximately eight years ago.
The newly formed company possesses multiple assets, one of which is CPW’s retail business, which has a presence of over 2400 stores in nine European countries.
