Dennis Washington was born in Spokane, Washington, but relocated to Alaska and Montana after moving to the upper Midwest.
In the early 1960s, he launched his construction business, Washington Construction, with a solitary bulldozer and $30,000.
In a span of only five years, the company had become Montana’s largest construction company.
Subsequently, he began to diversify his operations, expanding into mining and constructing dams.
In the mid-1980s, he made a wise decision to purchase a copper mine in Montana.
