The net worth of Erich Kellerhals, a German entrepreneur, is $4 billion.
A newcomer to the billionaire world, Mr.
Media Saturn GmbH, an electronics retail giant, was founded by Kellerhals.
In 1979, Erich Kellerhals founded the company with the help of two partners, who were based in Ingolstadt.
After two years, the trio transferred the majority of their ownership to Kaufhof, which later merged with the retail giant Metro.
The value of the company was estimated to be $10.5 billion (7.7 billion euros) when Metro acquired the remaining 3% owned by one of Kellerhals’ co-founders for approximately $310 million in January 2013.
As a result, Metro’s stake in the company grew to over 78% following the acquisition.
Kellerhals and Metro have not reconciled, resulting in a strained relationship.
Kellerhals was involved in a legal dispute over the company’s management.
Metro emerged victorious in court, while Kellerhals has maintained his almost 22% ownership.
