Gustaf Archibald Siegwart Douglas was born in Stockholm, Sweden on March 3, 1938, and graduated from Harvard Business School with a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 1964.
From 1964 to 1968, Gustaf Douglas worked as a consultant at Bohlin & Stromberg after completing his studies.
He assumed the role of TV2’s general manager from 1968 to 1971.
From 1971 to 1972, he served as the CEO of Bohlin & Stromberg, and from 1971 to 1973 he served as the chairman of the Shareholder’s Association. He then became the CEO of Dagens Nyheter and Expressen, among other newspapers, between 1973 and 1980.
After four years, Douglas founded AB Latour, an investment company.
The company, which is the primary source of his wealth, now holds the reins of the largest publicly traded security firm Securitas AB, as well as the world’s leading locks producer Assa Abloy, and the Swedish light fixtures manufacturer Fagerhult AB.
Douglas not only established and managed his own company, but also served on the board of Sweden’s Moderate Party.
His current focus is on education policies, and he is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
He currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden, where he has two children with his wife Elisabeth (nee von Essen), who is also of noble birth.
