The net worth of James Coulter, an American investment manager, is $2.1 billion.
As one of the founders of TPG Capital, a private equity firm that was once called Texas Pacific Group, he raised a considerable amount of money.
In 1959, Coulter was born and graduated from Dartmouth College as summa cum laude, and he later earned his MBA degree from Stanford University.
He started his career at Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb and later gained employment at Robert M. Robertson’s company.
The Bass Group
David Bonderman, who would become Coulter’s future wife, was introduced to him during his employment experience with billionaire Robert Bass.
In 1992, the duo established Texas Pacific Group in San Francisco and Fort Worth, which was later renamed TPG Capital. Today, the group is one of the world’s top private equity firms, with over $50 million in assets. Coulter is the head of the office in San Francisco, while Bonderman is the President of TPG and oversees the Dallas Headquarters.
In addition, the duo conducted a significant leveraged buyout by investing $66 million in Continental Airlines, just one year after launching TPG.
The first agreement resulted in a profit of over $640 million for them.
Oxford Health Plans, Burger King, Ducati Motor Holding, Petco, America West Airlines, Del Monte Foods, Seagate Technology, Gempus International, ON Semiconductor and JP Morgan are among the other profitable companies that Coulter has invested in.
The team is in charge of the project.
The company’s most recent acquisition is the sale of Neiman Marcus for $6 billion, which was previously purchased for $5.1 billion in 2005.
In addition, Coulter endorses New Orleans Entrepreneurship Week to promote business growth in the city where Penny Saer, his spouse, resides.
