Lee Seo-Hyun, the second daughter of Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-Hee, is the second daughter of another entrepreneur in her family.
After graduating from Parsons The New School for Design, Lee Seo-Hyun joined the Samsung Foundation and later became the president of Samsung Everland, a family-owned company.
Prior to taking charge of Everland, she had previously held the position of executive vice president at Cheil Industries, a chemical-and-textile affiliate of Samsung. She was in charge of the company’s fashion unit, and in 2011 Cheil acquired the Italian exotic leather brand Colombo via della Spiga, which Everland later purchased for $990 million.
Lee’s holdings include an 8.4% stake in Everland, worth approximately $900 million, and a 4.2% stake in Samsung SDS, valued at $250 million, in addition to other Samsung affiliates.
Her elder sister, Lee Boo-Jin, is also a billionaire and serves as the president of Everland.
