Liu Gexin, the Chairman of Shenzhen-listed Kelun Pharmaceutical, a manufacturer of antibiotics and traditional Chinese medicines, regained his billionaire status in 2013 after a decline in 2012.
With the increase in Kelun’s share price and the rise in pharmaceutical sales in China, he became a billionaire once again. The company’s revenue rose by 19.4% to $700 million in the first nine months of 2012, which helped Gexin’s net worth rise by 11% to $123 million.
In December 2013, Kelun revealed that it would acquire up to 30% of Lijun International Pharmaceutical, a Hong Kong-listed pharmaceutical company, for up to $316 million to expand its product line and sales network.
Liu Suihua, Lui’s brother, is under the supervision of the company’s deputy general manager.
