Empresas Polar, one of Venezuela’s largest private companies, is managed by Lorenzo Mendoza, who specializes in the production of beer and basic food items such as flour, condiments, tuna fish, and wine.
The company partnered with Spanish dairy firm Leche Pascual to establish a $146 million yogurt factory in Venezuela, where the “MiGurt” yogurt product can be stored for up to six months without refrigeration.
In addition to expanding his business, Mendoza founded Empresas Polar Foundation, one of Venezuela’s largest charities, focusing on children’s nutrition, health, and education. They have six children together, according to his private life.
