Petro Poroshenko, a Ukrainian businessman and politician, is worth $1.6 billion.
Petro Poroshenko, who gained the nickname “the chocolate king” in Ukraine, started his career by selling cocoa beans.
By using his earnings, he was able to acquire multiple confectionery plants and merge them into the Roshen confectionery manufacturing group in 1995.
After acquiring a confectionery in Hungary last year, Poroshenko is now working on expanding the group throughout Europe. He previously served as the head of the National Bank of the Council of Ukraine from February 2007 to March 2012, outside of Roshen.
Throughout his professional life, Poroshenko, who was once a Minister of Foreign Affairs, has also been actively involved in politics.
In 2012, he returned to the statecraft as a member of the Ukrainian Parliament and announced his candidacy for the position of mayor of Kiev in Ukraine.
