The net worth of Ralph Dommermuth, a German entrepreneur, is $3.9 billion.
The founder and CEO of United Internet AG, one of Germany’s top Internet access providers, Ralph Dommermuth, amassed his fortune.
He was the only person whose net worth rose by $1.9 billion last year due to a 90% increase in the share price of United Internet AG.
After completing an apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank in 1983, Dommermuth started his career as a computer salesman.
With DM 500,000 and a desk borrowed, he launched United’s predecessor company, 1&1 AG, five years later. The company initially provided tech-savvy marketing services to small software and telecommunications suppliers, but later gained access to major clients such as IBM, Compaq, and Deutsche Telekom.
The company was listed on the Neuer Markt, Germany’s new stock exchange, by Dommermuth in March 1998.
His ownership of the company has surpassed 40% since then.
The United Internet Team Germany was sponsored by Dommermuth, a passionate sailor, and his company during the 2007 America’s Cup.
