In 2014, the company and Shanghai Disney Resort joined forces to become one of the company’s primary drink suppliers. The Wei family is also involved in real estate investments and Dicos, a fried chicken chain.
Following a food safety scandal in which Wei Yin-Chiao and 16 others were accused of using animal-grade oil to produce expensive cooking oils, the company has been subject to negative publicity.
Although he faces a 30 year prison sentence, he has denied his involvement in the crime.
