Daryl, an American keyboardist and musician, amassed a net worth of $4.5 million.
Captain & Tennille, the successful 1970s pop music duo of Daryl Dragon and his wife, Toni Tennille, were the most famous for their portrayal of Daryl Dragon as Captain.
On August 27, 1942, Dragon was born in Los Angeles, California, to a musical family.
During the early 1970s, he was a member of The Beach Boys and played keyboards.
The title “Captain” was bestowed upon Dragon by Beach Boys frontman Mike Love, who wore a nautical captain’s hat during his performances.
He was a man of few words, and often quiet, which was quite unlike his outgoing wife, Toni Tennille. In late 2009, his wife disclosed that Dragon had developed a neurological condition that was similar to Parkinson’s disease, which manifested through a familial tremor.
Dragon was not affected by the disease for almost ten years, but it resulted in a noticeable shaking that was worsened by stress and anxiety, which hindered his musical abilities and public speaking abilities.
Dragon and Tennille were married for 39 years before Tennille filed for divorce in January 2014.
Dragon stated that he had no knowledge of this until he received the divorce papers and has no knowledge of why she filed.
The divorce papers mentioned health insurance and health problems and could be the reason for the separation, but Tennille did not provide a conclusive reason for the separation.
Unfortunately, Daryl Dragon passed away on January 2, 2019 at the age of 76.
