She was appointed as a judge on The Voice of Ireland in 2013 at the suggestion of her son. Dolores O’Riordan was born on September 6, 1971 in Ballybricken, County Limerick, Ireland as the youngest of nine children of Eileen, a school caterer, and Terence, a former farm worker.
O’Riordan was singing before she could even speak.
She commenced singing traditional Irish music and playing the Irish tin whistle, and was a liturgical soloist in the choir of her local church.
O’Riordan attended Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ in Limerick for both primary and secondary education.
She learned to play the piano and later on, she learned to play the guitar.
O’Riordan’s school’s song contest was won almost every year due to her exceptional talent, which led to her competing in national competitions.
Despite her parents’ insistence that she attend college, she refused and ran away from home to live with her boyfriend.
