Sammy, also known as “Show Business,” was a skilled singer, dancer, musician, actor, and impressionist who released numerous albums and appeared in over 70 films and TV shows.
“Golden Boy” (1964) earned him a Tony nomination for Best Actor in a Musical and he also appeared in “Porgy and Bess” (1959), “Ocean’s 11” (1960), and “The Cannonball Run” (1981) on Broadway.
Unfortunately, Davis died of throat cancer in May 1990, aged 64.
