After completing his mechanical engineering degree at Lehigh University, Jeff Beitzel started his career at the Ford Motor Company and went on to establish several successful automotive businesses, including Quantum Fuel Systems Technology.
Beitzel held the position of COO at Quantum from 2005 until his death from cancer in 2008.
He was also employed by Tecstar Automotive Group and Powertrain Integration, LLC.
After five marriages, he got engaged to Gretchen Rossi, a businesswoman and reality TV star, whom he met while searching for a home in Orange County. Rossi and Beitzel appeared on Bravo’s popular reality show “The Real Housewives of Orange County” while Beitzel battled leukemia.
The show’s fourth season centered around Rossi’s role in helping Beitzel fight against cancer.
Following his demise, Rossi was heavily criticized by his ex-wife and the mother of three of his children, who claimed that Beitzel never intended to wed the reality TV star, and referred to the automotive businessman as her “Prince Charming.”
Rossi reportedly received several million dollars from Beitzel in his estate when he passed away on September 13, 2008.
